National Bureau of Investigation (NBI_Cavido)_NBI CLEARANCE

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI_Cavido)

For both first time and old timers:

                Requirements:

·         Valid I.D (Government issued, will be a lot more helpful)

·         Black pen

If you live in Dasmariñas, I will suggest the Tagaytay Branch, for it’s a lot more convenient and no need to queue (wait in line), not like in Pure Gold Imus, that you will need to go early and queue for hours . There is a dress code there; you are not allowed to wear shorts, sandals and shirts with no sleeves.  At the gate, ask for the number and he will give you a form that you will need to fill up. Be advice, use all caps, read the instruction carefully, if you are getting confuse, ask for assistance to any NBI personnel, they all are very nice and accommodating. After you have finished filling up the form, go to the fingerprint personnel, he will be a little bossy but you will get a hang of it. Then wait for your number to be called, prepare 115 Php if you do not want any hustle, I will suggest that you bring an exact amount. After the cashier, its picture oerfect, don’t smile but don’t look like Mr. Scrooge. Then, just wait for your name to be called, if you don’t have any hit (term used for those who have the same names as yours, and have a pending case) you will get your clearance within 30-60 minutes (may change depends on what time you applied). If you have hit, sad to say but you will need to go back, it will be released 14 working days, so if you are in hurry better start applying now.

Note:

While filling up, indicate whether you are asking for a local or travel purpose. Another is, be bold and be sure that your writing can be easily be read, erasure can be done, but be advise to avoid such mistakes.

If you already have requested an NBI clearance before and you have requested for a local purpose, it’s not your first time to apply so don’t act like you a newbie and check that “NO”, to the question, “Is this your first time to apply for an NBI clearance?”

Itinerary (I am not travel expert but, I can give you some few tips and tricks on how to go there)

*Note: You can go anytime you want, but I will go to the early bird thing

0700 hrs               At Robinson Place- Dasmariñas, Board an ordinary bus going to Alfonso or any Bus to Tagaytay, (but ordinary bus is a lot more common, and don’t get so picky because when you reach somewhere Silang, the cold breeze of South Luzon is rewarding). Bus Fare for ordinary is around 40 Php so is to the air conditioned. Don’t take the PUJ (jeepneys) they cost a lot more expensive than the bus and will take you a lot longer. Ask the conductor to bring you to the NBI clearance gate, and not the SWAT office (but if you were to jump off at the SWAT office, no worries it’s just a block away).

0830 hrs               you are already at NBI I suppose, but don’t let your hopes high. There are rare times that the office is offline so cross your fingers. Just do the procedure above and you’re done.

0900-1000hrs     Your name will be called and let’s hope that you don’t have a hit. There are rare cases that you need to wait for almost two hours, but those are rare case, and let us hope you are not one of those rare cases. After you have received your clearance you can go to Olivarez, there are varieties of fast food there. But if you are one of those unfortunate, that have a hit, you will receive a receipt and with a stamp of date on when your clearance will be released.

n  If you will go home straight, just look for a bus that says Lawton or Pasay. And all I can say is Bon Voyage.

BoBo Shot

The BoBo shot is a drinking game that requires endurance in liquor consumption and some intelligence (but not needed, just common sense). The game was introduce by Ulrich and gained instant prestige to the group members (the whole pack loved it). This game is no fun when the players are not yet at least a fraction drunk, so players must drink some few first then proceed to the BoBo shot.

Requirements:

  1. Player’s mut be atleast 5 but not more than 10. (or you may get lost track of those answer)
  2. All players must be at least a fraction drunk.
  3. Ton’s of Screw Driver or Beer, whatever is available.

How to play:

  1. The host or the moderator of the gathering will pick the first category of the game.
  2. The category must only be in a general knowledge of the public. But may change if you are playing this with players with the same college course that you took. In short categories must be knowable to all the players.
  3. The person, who picked the category, can choose the direction of the game flow, either clockwise or counter-clockwise. For the first category pick of the game there will be no time limit set, and after the first pick of the category 45 seconds will be counted. If you fail to give a category after the respected time, you are required to take a shot. You will have the maximum 3 shots if you were not been able to give a category, after that, the category picking will then be returned to the host or moderator. If there’s a circumstance that the host or moderator was the final taker of the shot. Anyone can give the category, if there are more than one to volunteer- flip a coin.
  4. The player who cannot answer within 5 seconds shall lose and need to take a shot. If the player answered someone answer’s the timer will be reset. But if the player is just guessing and his/her answer is not relevant to the category, the timer would not be reset.
  5. The loses only have 25 seconds to take his/her shot, if he/she fails to do so, double shot will be implemented.
  6. Points are counted by how many you have not answered. The player with the least score wins and the one with the high score lose. The looser will be lined to the hall of shame and will be crowned the bobo of the night.

Disclaimer:

The game did not originate on our group. There are tons of other similar drinking games as the bobo shot. Ulrich and the group do not take full credits on this drinking game. But if you are going to use our rule book, at least be generous enough to say it was from Ulrich.

Still in Progress....

South-1337 Militia

South-1337 Militia, is a hacker community formed in Dasmarinas City. Created to form a bond of trust amongst the computer enthusiasts, hacker/cracker, students with a general interests in Information Security. The South-1337 Militia(also known as SOUTH's ELITES) is dedicated to give information and gather more interests in the field of Information Security. The group does not choose who must join and must not join, this is for everyone interested and dedicated to improve Philippines InfoSec Industry/Community.Anything with the 'hacker' label on it tends attract only one kind of person. This meeting is designed to attract not only hackers but members of the InfoSec community and people who want to learn more about InfoSec but do not consider themselves hackers. The purpose here is to interact with people who may have different backgrounds but share the same passion for technology. Many security people feel that hackers are nothing but trouble and many hackers feel that security people are clueless. Those generalizations are often made in error and we'd like to bring all techno-dweebs back under a single umbrella.
